Safety Policy

Objective

To establish a written policy in safety and health, which illustrates clearly the management’s commitment and approach in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Scope:

The policy includes:

a) A statement, which clearly articulates the department’s/office’s safety objective and goals and its commitment to achieve these objectives and goals;

b) A clear description of duties and responsibilities of employees at all levels in Promoting and ensuring occupational safety and health in the organization;

 c) Acknowledgement that employees are an important resource. The policy is endorsed by the Deans/Divisional Directors/Heads of Department and Academic Groups to demonstrate commitment of the top management. The policy must be well publicized, made known, understood and accepted by all levels of personnel and contractors. The policy must be reviewed and revised (if necessary) on a regular basis and the date(s) of review and revision stated.

As part of our continuous efforts to further improve our Environmental Performance, GUNUNG CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. as a policy, adopts the Building and Construction Authority's Green & Gracious Builder Award Criteria.  These criteria supplement, and have been integrated into our existing Environmental Management System, so that it is practiced consistently organisation-wide.  
 

Adopting the Building and Construction Authority's Green & Gracious Builder Award Criteria ensures sustainable environmental protection and in addition, gracious building practices have also been incorporated as a standard in our project management.  
 

The Group’s green initiatives are also certified under internationally recognised schemes such as the Environmental Management System Certificate (ISO 14001), as well as the Quality Management System Certificate (ISO 9001).  

In addition to our environmental policy, we are also committed to the following:

  1. Train and Promote Awareness among all staff on the Environmental Aspects related to our work.
  2. Use natural resources, especially energy and water efficiently.
  3. Reduce the quantity of waste to minimise air, water and land pollution.
  4. Prevent and prepare for any emergency that could impact the environment.
  5. Select Sub-Contractors and Suppliers who are Environmental Partners.
  6. Provide measures to ensure that access to our sites are clear and safe for all interested parties such as employees, vendors, neighbours or the public.
  7. Plan and execute our work activities always with the consideration of public safety.
  8. Prevent excessive noise and vibration arising from our work activities.
  9. Promote our Green and Gracious initiatives through communicating our policies and necessary information to all interested parties such as employees, vendors, neighbours or the public.
  10. Establish a Workforce Management System to provide welfare and career progression for employees.
